Modifying a Vault Crystal

Overview

You can modify normal Vault Crystals with several different items to suite your liking. These items include:

• These items include: Augments, which specify the theme the Vault Crystal will have.
• Seals, which set the objective of the Vault Crystal.
• Capstones, which will add a unique modifier to the vault and make it unmodifiable.
• Inscriptions, which will guarantee the room specified in the inscription to spawn close to the vault portal.
• Catalysts, which will add a positive and a negative modifier to the crystal.

Out of these, catalysts and inscriptions use up Capacity on the Vault Crystal, while Seals, Augments and Capstones take no Vault Crystal Capacity to add. Capacity is equal to the level of the Vault Crystal, and 10 additional Capacity for every level in the Crystalmancer expertise you may have. Using more Capacity than the Crystal has will curse the vault adding strong negative modifiers. Vault Crystals are modified in the Crystal Workbench

Catalysts

Catalysts add a positive modifier described in the Catalyst and a random negative modifier to the Vault Crystal. Possible Catalyst modifiers are:

Applying a Catalyst takes up Capacity, the Capacity required to add the Catalyst depends on the source of the Catalyst. Crafted Catalysts are always size 10 while Catalysts obtained from other sources vary between sizes 5-20. Crafting any Catalyst costs 9 Catalyst Fragments, 4 Dreamstone and 4 Benitoite.

Bonus catalysts

Bonus Catalysts adds chests randomly anywhere in vault rooms and always adds Wild as a negative modifier. Bonus Catalysts cannot be crafted and can only be obtained rarely from Black Market, Lost Bounties and Shopping Pedestals.

Inscriptions

Adding an Inscription to a Vault Crystal guarantees the specified room to generate near the vault portal and there will be a map in the starter room to show you where it generated. All Inscriptions are 10 size expect for Shopping Pedestal ones which are between 5-20 size. Unwanted Inscriptions can be scrapped in the Vault Recycler for Inscription Pieces. Inscriptions can be crafted in the Inscription Table and the cost for each room is:

Seals

Seals set the objective of the Vault Crystal to the one specified on the Seal. Seals cost 6 Vault Essence, 1 Perfect Alexandrite, 1 Blank Seal and a cheap Minecraft item that changes depending on the Seal. Seals don't cost any Capacity to add.

Augments

Augments set the theme of the Vault Crystal to what is specified on the augment. Augments drop from Completion Crates with a 20% chance and will be the theme of the vault you completed. 3 Augments can be crafted together into a Special Chaos Theme Augment. Augments don't cost any Capacity to add.

Capstones

Capstones add powerful modifiers to the vault and also make the Vault Crystal unmodifiable after having been applied. Capstones can rarely be aquired from Shopping Pedestals and Black Market. There are also Capstones matching each Vault God which can only be aquired from completing a God Altar inside a vault and returning to the God Altar to collect it. God Capstones also apply 1 of 2 posible modifiers instead of being guaranteed. Phoenix Capstone can also uniquely be applied multiple times despite the crystal being unmodifiable as long as the crystal already has at least one Phoenix stack

Curses

For every Catalyst and Inscription that goes over the Capacity of a Vault Crystal it will add a set of Curses to the crystal. These Curses are:
