Altar Automation
Altar Automation is a Research in the QoL category that allows you to automate the Vault Altar in several ways.
Altar Automation unlocks the Altar Conduit and three enhancements for it. The Conduit can be bound to a Refined Storage Controller or Applied Energistics 2 ME Controller by sneak-right clicking, and then placed on top of a Vault Altar. If it is within 32 blocks of the controller when a Vault Rock is placed on the altar, items will trail through the air towards the conduit and complete the recipe if enough ingredients are stored in the storage system.

Enhancements
The Altar Conduit has four Enhancement slots in its GUI, and three possible enhancements.
The Speed Enhancement increases the speed items move from the controller to the Conduit.
The Quantity Enhancement increases how many items are sent in each group. One Quantity Enhancement sends 8 items at once, two enhancements sends 32 items at once, three enhancements sends 64 items at once, and four enhancements sends 128 items at once.
The Teleport Enhancement disables the item trail animation and eliminates the start up delay for the Conduit. As the Teleport Enhancement is extremely expensive, it is not recommended to use it in the conduit and to focus on Quantity Enhancements instead.
Vault Rock Automation
Using the Altar Conduit and a Modular Router with a Security Upgrade and an Activator Module you can automatically place a Vault Rock on a Vault Altar. The Activator Module must try to place the Vault Rock on the Altar Conduit, not the Vault Altar.
Double Altar Setup for Distant Altars
Using a Vault Altar setup with automated Vault Rocks, you can bypass the 32 block limit of the Altar Conduit. If a player has two altars placed with Vault Rocks on both of them, the current status of the Vault Crystal Recipe can be updated by sending a redstone pulse to an altar. This allows the player to have an altar nearby their controller where the recipe is completed, but receive the completed crystal somewhere else. If the Modular Router near the Altar Conduit has a Vacuum Module or other way to pick up the Vault Rock after the crystal is completed, it can use the same Vault Rock to complete any number of crystals.
